Earlier this year, the City of Tulare was awarded a grant by CalRecycle through their Rubberized Pavement Program to partially fund a resealing project within the city. This grant required that the streets selected be resealed with crumb rubber from waste tires in an effort to reduce the number of tires going to the landfill. The total number of waste tires diverted for this project alone was 5,517.84. 

The streets selected for this project were:

• Alpha St, Omega Ave, Short Ave, Milner St, Denair St, Capistrano Ave, Santa Cruz Ave, and Olema Ave
• Maricopa St, Shasta Ave, Marin St, Stafford Ct, Yuba Cir, Mendocino St, Trinity Ct, and Napa St
• Kaweah Dr, Helene St, Finch Ave, Barranca Ct, Peralta Ct, Sedro St, Boyer Dr
