Tulare’s Municipal Code requires all residents within the city limits of Tulare to have a trash service account.
Blue and Green containers are serviced on either Monday or Tuesday depending on your address and the Brown or Gray container is serviced on either Thursday or Friday depending on your address.
All residential containers: Blue, Green, and Brown or Gray, must be out for service before 6:00 a.m. on your day of service and removed the same day of service.
**NEW - Beginning January 6, 2026, solid waste service days are changing for certain properties. A letter was mailed to notify you of the change if your property is affected.

Additional Services:
- Additional service on the green, blue, brown or gray container is available at a cost of $25.78 per container per service.
- Additional green, blue or trash containers are available at $10.17 per month. A form must be completed before delivery of the additional containers. You may pick up the form at City Hall at 411 E Kern Ave., Tulare, CA, at the utility payment window or the City Corporation Yard at 3981 S K St., Tulare, CA at the front office. You may contact Solid Waste at (559) 684-4325 and we can mail you the form if needed.
- Damaged green, blue, brown or gray containers may be repaired, cleaned, or replaced by contacting Solid Waste at (559) 684-4325. Charges may apply for replacements and cleaning.
- Carry out service is available at no charge with a prior approved application with a doctor’s note.
- Temporary rental bins are available to residential customers.
