Under Title 5 of the City of Tulare Municipal Code, any person who conducts any business, trade, profession, or occupation in the City must first obtain a Business Tax Certificate (Business License).

Business Tax Certificate applications are accepted and processed Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Finance Department at City Hall located at 411 E. Kern Avenue, Tulare, CA 93274.

If applying for a business license for a commercial business located within city limits, you may be subject to an inspection by the Building and Fire Departments. Inspections are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
