If you plan to run a business, trade, profession, or occupation in the City of Tulare, you must first get a Business Tax Certificate (also called a Business License). This is required under Title 5 of the City of Tulare Municipal Code.

How to Apply

• Applications are accepted Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Apply in person at the Finance Department in City Hall, located at 411 E. Kern Avenue, Tulare

Important Information for Commercial Businesses

• If you business is located within the city limits, you may need an inspection by the Building Division and Fire Department.
• Inspections are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
