How the City of Tulare Buys Products and Services

The City of Tulare works to get the products and services it needs at the best price. To do this, the City asks vendors to submit bids and proposals when needed.

According to the City's purchasing rules:

  • If a purchase or contract is less than $25,000, the City uses an informal bid process.
  • If a purchase or contract is more than $25,000, the City uses a formal bid process.

Sometimes, the City issues Requests for Proposals (RFPs). These may be listed below. Because cost is not always the main factor in choosing a proposal, RFPs are not opened in public.

To encourage fair competition, the list below shows:

  • All formal projects the City is currently accepting bids for.
  • All Notices Inviting Bids and Requests for Proposals that closed in the last 90 days.
