The City of Tulare’s Engineering Department manages the engineering portion of the City’s Capital Improvement Program. This management includes identifying and securing funding, budgeting, scheduling, planning, design and construction management of City infrastructure projects. Typical projects include street construction and rehabilitation, bridges, culverts, traffic signals, interchanges, intersections, storm drains, water lines and sewer lines. The Engineering Department is made up of engineers, technicians, inspectors and survey crew members. The Department frequently coordinates joint projects with outside agencies such as Cal Trans, Tulare County, the Tulare City School District, and the Tulare Irrigation District.  The Department also provides technical engineering support to other City Departments.
