The City of Tulare is now offering designs that have been submitted to the City by architects, designers and engineers, and have been pre-approved to meet state and local requirements. Please see the list of current accepted ADU plans here.

Architects / Draftspersons 

Architects looking to submit plans for Pre-Approval. Plans will be required to be submitted for building permit plan check and will require the payment of a plan check fee. Please submit the Architect Submittal Application and building plans to the Building Digital Plan Submission page.

Property Owners 

Floor plans and elevations of ADUs that have been pre-approved by the City of Tulare are provided below. Applicants who wish to obtain a full set of building plans for one of the pre-approved ADUs may contact the City of Tulare Community Development Department at (559) 684-4276. City staff will provide contact information for the architect who prepared the selected plans. Applicants can then obtain plans and will be required to obtain a Release and Waiver singed by the architect. 

Applicants looking to use Pre-Approved ADU Plans must fill out the Property Owner Application Package and obtain all necessary building permits prior to construction. Application materials can be submitted in-person at City Hall, 411 E. Kern Avenue, Tulare, CA 93274 or through the Building Digital Plan Submission page.
