Instructional classes are taught by Red-Cross certified swim instructors to youth 1 year through adults.
Classes are held at Tulare Western Pool, June 10 - July 19, 2019.

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

GROUP LESSONS

PARENT AND TOT  (Open to all parents and toddlers ages 1-3 years)   This class is designed to have an interactive parent and child swim lesson. These lessons will expose your child to being in the water all while in the safety of their parent's arms. Children will learn water safety skills and practice safe and positive water skills.

HOT TOTS    (Ages 3-5)  Hot Tots is a class designed to give toddlers the fundamentals they will need to progress in swimming. Confidence to swim on their own all while learning to breathe under water, using their arms and legs and feeling comfortable being on their tummy and back in the water.

LEVEL 1  (Ages 5-7)  Level 1 is for kids with little t ono swim experience who are ready to learn to swim. Taking the basic fundamentals and learning how to apply them in the water - breathing, breath holding, buoyancy and learning to incorporate the movement of their arms and legs.

LEVEL 2  (Ages 6 and older) This class is for kids with some water skills, but need additional guidance and support with their fundamental skills. This class will provide additional help with buoyancy, front to back transitions, gliding and using arms and legs.

LEVEL 3  (Ages 6+ who can do swim basics) This class is open to kids who can swim 25 yards with arm, leg and breathing control. This level will assist with endurance and refining some of their basic swimming and stroke skills.

LEVEL 4  This level allows for kids to learn the fundamentals of each stroke with the introduction of the finer points that are involved with each stroke. The understanding of stroke technique, breathing and kicking..

LEVEL 5  This class is for stroke refinement and introduction to diving and water entry techniques.

PRIVATE LESSONS   (Open to children 2 years of age and older and adults ages 18 and over at any swim level)  This is a 1-week, one-on-one instructional class

GROUP LESSONS:         $52/2 weeks
2nd FAMILY MEMBER:   $50/2 weeks

PRIVATE LESSONS:        $72/Weekly

Registrations will be taken at the Recreation Department beginning January 8th thru Friday, June 8th.
Beginning Monday, June 11, all aquatics registrations will be taken at Tulare Western High School Pool. 
Registrations will also be accepted online.

 

TULARE JGS - JUNIOR LIFEGUARD

AGES 11 - 14

Tulare JG program is to help introduce the concepts of lifeguarding to those who have a desire to learn and develop their skills as a lifeguard. This program will give the kids a chance to learn CPR/First Aid, basic water safety skills and how to perform basic water rescues. Active and attentive kids will receive their CPR/First Aid certification through the American Red Cross, but the certificate is not a guarantee.

JUNIOR WATER POLO FOR BOYS & GIRLS

AGES 13 & UP

Regardless  of  your  swimming  abilities, this program  offers  youth an opportunity to experience the fun of water  polo.  The  program  will  feature  an  instructional swim component  to  increase  the  skill  and  physical  level  of  new  as  well as the more advanced swimmer.  Water Polo  teams  will be formed and  intersquad games will be scheduled.

SPLASHBALL

AGES 7-12

Splashball is a USA Water Polo sanctioned program that is designed to introduce the sport of water polo to kids aged 7-12. It will in traduce the basics of the sport, get kids excited to play as they grow older and it helps keep kids active and healthy!
