NOTICE OF FUNDING AVAILABILITY OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) CORONAVIRUS AID, RELIEF, AND ECONOMIC SECURITY (CARES) ACT (CDBG-CV) FUNDS REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
In response to the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19) the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has notified the City of Tulare that it will receive an allocation of $419,611 in Community Development Block Grant Funds to be used to prevent, prepare for and respond to COVID-19. This allocation was authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, Public Law 116-136, which was signed by President Trump on March 27, 2020, to respond to the growing effects of this historic public health crisis.
At this time, the City is requesting proposals from interested, tax-exempt nonprofit organizations that provide eligible CDBG services and/or projects benefiting low- and moderate-income City of Tulare homeless residents to prevent, prepare for and respond to COVID-19 for the amount of $79,611. The City of Tulare staff and City Manager will review and recommend to the Tulare City Council the public service component of the application. Tulare City Council will conduct a public hearing pertaining to all aspects of the proposed application and will adopt specific programs and funding amounts.
Application Availability and Deadline:
Applications must be submitted to the City of Tulare Community Development Department by 5:00 pm, June 12, 2020, via email at email@example.com or mailed to 411 E. Kern Ave. Tulare, CA 93274. Applications will not be accepted after this deadline.
