CITY OF TULARE NOTICE OF AVAILABLE FUNDS
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG)
REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR PROGRAM YEAR 2020 - 2021
Notice is hereby given that the City of Tulare anticipates receiving Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for Program Year 2020-2021. The primary objective of the CDBG Program is the development of viable urban communities by providing decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanding economic development opportunities for persons of low and moderate-income.
The City is currently requesting proposals from interested, tax-exempt non-profit organizations that provide CDBG eligible services and/or projects benefiting low and moderate-income (80% or less of the area median income) City of Tulare residents.
CDBG eligible activities established by HUD can include, but are not limited to:
Public Services, Homeless Services, Youth Services, Senior Services, Infrastructure Improvements, Economic Development Projects, Job Training/Placement, Job Creation/Retention, Housing Rehabilitation, and Lead Based Paint Reduction.
Letters of Interest will be available October 14th, 2019 and must be submitted by December 13th, 2019 by 5:00pm, at the aforementioned address. Letters of Interest will not be accepted after this deadline.

The Public Hearing for the 2018 CAPER will be held on September 17, 2019.
