Park Facilities

The Tulare Parks and Recreation Department has many park facilities available to rent for many occasions. To rent a picnic shelter or ballfield, visit the Parks and Recreation office at 830 S. Blackstone Street, inside the Meitzenheimer Community Center. Reservation fees vary from $50 to $95 per shelter. You can also check online to see if a date is available. Water Play Areas 

Del Lago Park, Mulcahy Park, and Zumwalt Park feature water play areas. Water splash pad hours will begin Memorial Day weekend and will run Friday-Sunday and holidays from 12-7 p.m.  Hours may be modified or there is a possibility no splash pads will be turned on. Water splash pads will be closed for the season beginning the day after Labor Day.

Prosperity Sports Park Complex is located at 846 W. Prosperity Avenue. This park features 4 softball fields (3 are lighted), clubhouse, lighted basketball court, and more.

Softball tournaments are held mid-February through mid-December. If you are interested in holding a tournament, please contact Michael Capote, Recreation Supervisior, at (559)684-4313 for further information. Tournament dates are set by early December for the following year.

We do not make reservations for any fields at Prosperity Sports Park. The Clubhouse is available for public rental during mid-December through Mid-February (as long as a tournament is not being held) .for a fee of $80/hour.  A refundable deposit of $150 is required for groups less than 100 persons.  

If you are interested in reserving the clubhouse, please visit the Parks and Recreation Department, 830 S. Blackstone Street, during normal business hours.
