Join us on April 16th, 2026, at 6:00pm, for Button Jewelry Making and Rock Painting, while learning about the different ways materials were repurposed in the Japanese American prison camps.
Between 1941-1945, over 140,000 Japanese Americans were forcefully imprisoned into 10 camps in the United States. Forced to live in harsh conditions that denied them basic human necessities and comforts, they crafted what they needed by using whatever materials they could find. We draw inspiration from their artistry with this Adult Craft Night, as we work with found materials such as rocks, buttons, and string.
This is a free program offered by the library. All materials are included. Ages 18+.
Call/visit the library during regular business hours to save your seat. Sign-ups start April 1st, 2026.
