Join us Thursday, February 5th, as the Sequoia Genealogical Society and member Rochelle Miguel presents her presentation on the restoration of the Deep Creek Cemetery.
Tucked between Farmersville and Exeter, Deep Creek Cemetery is thought to be the second-oldest cemetery in Tulare County. Many early pioneers are buried in this cemetery, which hold captivating forgotten stories. Despite challenges like drought and neglect, renewed interest has revitalized the site.
A visit to introduce her cousin to the cemetery inspired Rochelle to launch a restoration project for the Daughters of the American. Their goal was to locate, identify, and clean all Veteran headstones. Now, it includes mapping the cemetery and locating all burials.
